An angina attack 300 metres from the summit of Everest in 2005, a triple heart bypass in 2003, the loss of the fingers on his left hand due to frostbite in 2000 and most recently a prostate cancer diagnosis….
A list of ailments that would be enough to send anyone scurrying for their pipe and slippers; but not Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
On Monday, May 19, Team Marie Curie will be starting their summit bid.

I’ve just finished reading ‘Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know’ and had a quick look online to see if there was anything afoot since the Eiger. I’m thrilled to discover that you’re giving Everest another go! If anyone deserves to make it to that summit then it’s those of you who have devoted your lives to exporation and challenge and really appreciate the true wonders of the world. I wish the whole team all the luck in the world. Enjoy the view from the top :o)
